Additional information

Sponsored by Dow Corning, this is the first time molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been used to make and break silicon-oxygen bonds. MIPs have previously been used in carbon chemistry and so this represents an important extension of the methodology. This research also reports the first example of biomimetic siloxane bond formation catalysed by molecularly imprinted polymers. Dow Corning continued this work in-house.
