Additional information

Energy harvesting technology can extend the lifetime of battery limited sensor networks. This paper provides a learning theoretic framework to optimize the communication protocols for energy harvesting wireless transmitters. These principles form the basis of a tutorial that will be presented by Dr. Gunduz (together with Michele Zorzi and Kostas Stamatiou) at the International Conference on Communications (ICC) and International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems (ISWCS) in 2013. These ideas also led to an international consortium coordinated by Dr. Gunduz, which has received funding within the FP7 CHIST-ERA program as the top-ranked proposal among all the submitted research proposals.
