Additional information

This is a landmark in the study of metal-organic framework materials as analogues of silica networks, because it showed for the first time that the structure of the thermally-produced amorphous phase of a zeolitic imidazolate materials is properly described as a perfect continuous random network rather than as a distorted crystal. This completed the analogy with silica.
