Sepiolite needle-like clay for PA6 nanocomposites: An alternative to layered silicates?
This work was developed within the framework of the FP6-NMP project NANOFIRE (total budget £2.3m). The paper is already one of the most recognised in the field of polymer/nanocomposites using needle-like nanoclay alternatives to commonly studied montmorillonites. Based on this work, the authors got invited to write a book chapter in 'Advances in Polyolefin Nanocomposites', V.Mittal, Taylor&Francis (2011), invited to conference talks (e.g. Eurofillers 2009) and to establish external
collaborations (e.g. University of Mons, University of Naples). The knowhow acquired has recently been exploited in an on-going industrial collaboration with DSM (£150k).
