Additional information

An important future application of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) is as interconnects in integrated circuits. This paper led to three EC contracts coordinated by Robertson worth in total EUR15M to all partners and ~EUR2.5M to Cambridge: Viacarbon (FP7-2007-1 #216668), Technotubes (FP7-NMP-2008-Large2 #228579), Grafol (FP7-2011-NMP-ICT-FoF #28575). These involve commercialisation partners such as Intel. The work led to a published international patent application WO2012010834 and an annually renewable research contract of USD130k from Honda (RG60829, 2012). This work was cited for the Humboldt Research Prize from the German government and in the election to a Fellowship of the American Physical Society for Robertson.
