Additional information

This paper is one of several outputs produced as fruitful results of a successful ongoing collaboration between several Universities in different countries. This includes participation from Lebanese International University, Lebanon, University of Paris Diderot, LUNAM University and ONIRIS, France, and Department of Computing, Engineering and Technology, University of Sunderland, UK. This work is supported by several grants including ADEME and CNRS. The work presents careful analytical and experimental investigation of micro-mixing quantification using chemical probe methods providing a better understanding of different limitations that arise in the final determination of local turbulence energy dissipation rate. This study provides solid guidelines for obtaining quantitative information from the chemical probe and for improving the accuracy by an adaptive protocol.
