Additional information

This paper proposes a new decentralised sliding mode control approach for continuous-time, nonlinear, delay interconnected systems. This novel approach was extended to discrete-time systems by Mahmoud and Qureshi, published in Automatica (No. 5, 2012), based on the preliminary version of the result published in IEEE CDC 2009. This significant contribution to control of time delay systems led to an invited talk to the CNRS funded international network on delay systems in Supélec, France, in February 2012. This work has stimulated new paradigms for sliding mode control and interconnected systems, which formed the basis for the EPSRC project (EP/J017477/1).
