Additional information

This is a hybrid volume. The first section is a series of commissioned chapters written by well-known specialists in the field. The second section, pp.192-326, consists of a co-written (by Moore and Caestecker) synthesis comparing national refugee policies in Western Europe from the nineteenth century to 1940 and a conclusion. This was a highly innovative attempt to examine thematically refugee policy-making and its outcomes across several European states. Although not credited in the text itself, this author was jointly responsible for the conception of the whole project, co-authoring the major second section of the book, and also translating and/or editing the other contributions.
