This project began in 2003 and involved extensive research in Britain, the US, Israel, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, spread over a number of years. It encompassed primary and secondary sources in at least six languages in order to complete what was essentially a comparative survey of five national case studies across Western Europe. The resultant monograph runs to more than 500 printed pages.
