Additional information

Gottlieb was guest editor of this special issue. She set the questions to be addressed and delineated the key themes. She recruited all the contributors, oversaw the editorial process, approached and recruited all peer reviewers, and was one of the two or three readers of each article. She also contributed her own article, 'Broken Friendships and Vanished Loyalties': Gender, Collective (In)Security and Anti-Fascism in Britain in the 1930s (pp.197-220), and wrote the introduction (pp.137-140), which situates the comparative study of women, gender and fascism and anti-fascism in the developing historiography and in the context of contemporary events.
