<26> Controlling characters that compete with each other while cooperatively following animator commands is challenging, due to the contradictory natures of the competitive and cooperative objectives. This paper proposed a new method to model the objectives and implement artificial intelligence using game-trees. This work was supported by EPSRC (EP/H012338/1) and was an international collaborative project with Japan (RIKEN and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology AIST). The paper led to an invited talk in the ACM Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics (San Fransisco, 2011).
