Shareholder Primacy and Corporate Governance. A large monograph based on four years of PhD research, this makes a vital interdisciplinary contribution to the debate about what corporations are for and what their objectives should be. It explores the socio-economic forces behind theories of corporate governance configurations and related legal doctrine. Topics extend from general law to interdisciplinary studies of governance and harmonisation. Following the economic crisis, the author spent a further year in investigating the future significance of recent changes in the corporate scene, thereby adding a section illuminating the subject of future corporate governance practice.
