Additional information
This work demonstrated a colour-tunable CMOS/LED micro-system using a single LED material for both display and light communication applications. The new approach to LED multi-colour emission developed from this work has impact in the areas of LED materials, displays and visible light communications, as evidenced by it underpinning a £4.6M EPSRC Programme Grant award [EP/K00042X/1, 2012-2016] on visible light communications. This joint work guided further collaboration with Peking University [Zhang, gyzhang@pku.edu.cn] on growth of advanced epi-structures that will progress the Programme Grant research.
