Additional information

<25> A foundation is provided for computationally-novel types of emergent pattern processing structures based on nonlinear self-adaptive hardware components. Derived from an interdisciplinary multi-site EPSRC project (EP/D00036X/1 total value £711k), it has since led to further publications and proposal submission to EU FET Open. It has also spawned an international collaboration with China (Dr Xueyong Wei, Xi'An Jiaotong University), and Italy (Federico Bizzarri, Politecnico di Milano) and national collaboration with Birmingham University (Dr Carl Anthony c.j.anthony@bham.ac.uk) to develop the ideas into novel physically realisable computing and sensing structures.
