Additional information

Experimental test techniques, arising from research under an EU Framework Programme, were developed, with the aim of manipulating pre-separation boundary layers and wakes in order to increase lift and reduce drag. These techniques were subsequently used in wind tunnel programmes, to reduce automotive vehicle aerodynamic drag and fuel consumption, for other organisations including TATA Motors (jeff.howell@tatamotors.com) .
