Additional information

This paper “presented a novel and efficient approach useful in FMEA and has had significant impact in reliability engineering and research” (Associate Editor, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2012). “It is the most frequently cited paper in this journal from 2008 to 2013” (Associate Editor, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, November 2013). This work was a pre-cursor to the award of an EPSRC grant in fire and rescue management (EP/S041993, Wang as PI, £135k, 2009-2012). A Research Leadership Award to J. Wang by the Society for Reliability Engineering, Quality and Operations Management (SREQOM) in 2008 stemmed from this work (Chairman, SREQOM).
