Additional information

This is a case study examining the concentration of naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) in alluvial sediments. Although the levels of NORM were not found to be excessive the work is important in providing a benchmark for future monitoring operations. The research, undertaken jointly by physicists and engineers, sets out the baseline methodology for catchment studies for NORM elsewhere in the world.
