This is a four-language, critical and annotated edition of the letters of Mozart and his father written during their visits to Italy between 1769 and 1773. It represents the first-ever translation of all these letters into English, boasts the most complete and accurate annotative apparatus (still in progress), includes substantial essays on aspects of the letters and their content, is the first edition to incorporate both documentary (non-letter) and iconographic material and evidence relative to the content of the letters, and represents an attempt to provide a model for a digital humanities project involving the presentation of primary sources
