<28>This paper presented a novel disease biomarker discovery method based on the group search optimiser (GSO). It was the first time GSO was applied to select biomarkers from high throughput omics data. It won the ICI Prize for the Best Paper published in Transactions in 2012. The Certificate and the cash prize will be formally presented at the Institute’s 2013 Presidential Lecture and Learned Awards Evening in October 2013 in London.
