Additional information

<19>This work presents an in-depth study of the fake AV threat. It is one of the earliest works to tackle the problem of attributing cyber attacks to specific operations/campaigns and to estimate their success rate. Early results from this research have been used in a commercial setting by the security vendor Symantec, e.g., in the production of their "Intelligence Report". I was invited to give the keynote talk at the EC2ND 2009 conference based on this work.
