English abstract

The paper explores memes as an aesthetic trend that propels subjective, collective and political becoming. Memes are first considered as objects that mediate individuation through the aesthetic consummation of self, the collective and the technical in the performances of digital cultures. Secondly, the very expressive form of meme turns out to be borne by specific technical architecture of the image board 4chan, the birthplace of the Anonymous hacking network. Here, the aesthetic production becomes one with the emergence of political power, and the technical specificity of the platform accounts for new aesthetic work as well as political action alike.
