Additional information

Gibbons led the commissioning process inviting contributions from scholars in Europe and the US with a view to placing Mark Z. Danielewski’s writing within the context of the contemporary literary landscape in three central ways: in terms of its heritage (Fordham, Van Hulle, McHale), its resonance with post-millennial culture (McCormick, Evans, Hayles, Hansen), and its readerly reception (Gibbons, Thomas, White, Bray). Gibbons edited 6 of the 11 chapters in the volume, co-authored the introduction, and contributed 1 chapter ‘This is not for you’ - a cognitive-poetic account of the opening to House of Leaves.
