Additional information

* The first paper ever to consider a multiphase (more than three phases) open-end winding drive configuration. An invited original research paper, prepared following the invitation of the E-i-C.

* Significant since both multiphase and open-end configurations are of particular interest to the EV/HEV research community, where two batteries can be used as the supply sources, providing redundancy.

* This work enabled the group to acquire the current research grant (“Advanced Power Electronic Solutions for Variable-Speed Multiphase AC Motor Drives”), dealing with multiphase open-end winding drives, from the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF: NPRP 4-152-02-053; $ 287k, 2012-2015).
