Additional information

The study, involving international collaborators from Germany and Cyprus, presented results highlighting the differences in personal emotional communication patterns between younger and older users online. The result is useful for engineering effective online platforms to support younger people in coping with various social issues. For instance, this work underpinned a research grant from Kent County Council (35162), in collaboration with Kent County Youth Services (Charlie Beaumont, charlie.beaumont@kent.gov.uk) and secondary schools to investigate how digital technologies, including online social networks and 3D avatar-mediated communication, can be used by young people to deal with conflict resolution in the context of bullying.
