Additional information

First published wear study contrasting performance of fixed and mobile bearing unicompartmental knee replacements, investigating effect of design and reduced conformity on wear. Industrially-funded study investigating novel low conformity bearing compared against the clinical market-leading implant. This study has led to further collaboration with industry (DePuy International, CHardake@its.jnj.com) and clinicians to establish a more stratified approach to investigation of wear under clinically relevant conditions. Presented as invited presentations at World Tribology Congress, Kyoto, Japan (2009), and European and Asia Surgeon professional education meetings (Kuala Lumpur, Vienna, Barcelona, Annecy 2009-2011).
