Rockfalls and Ponds
This exhibition and book present two strands, or themes of investigation, made over a 15 year period – one of rockfalls and the other of ponds. In each case more recent bodies of work were presented alongside studies made in the 1990’s to examine how the changing methods of practice have led to new outputs and insights. Short texts were written and presented in both the exhibition and publication to introduce and interrogate the works in order to situate the recent research in the wider corpus.
The recent studies have developed more extensive series of pictures – 30 to 100 pictures of each site over longer periods of time - which combine into complex threads of visual, philosophical, cultural and personal study.
