Additional information

<24>Research on cost-sensitive induction has led to many publications with the danger that future research may not build upon existing work and expend effort following paths already explored. This paper presents a new taxonomy for cost -sensitive induction that is based on a comprehensive study of the existing algorithms, resulting in a synthesis that represents a major contribution to the field. As an indication of its significance, it was the basis of the only UK proposed workshop for the IEEE International Conference on Data Mining in 2012 and has been downloaded over 560 times on the ACM digital library.
