Additional information

Process design and determination of process parameters are critical in manufacturing fault-free and dimensional accurate spun parts in metal spinning. A trial-and-error approach is not uncommon in industry for new spinning process development and production. This paper is devoted to the exploration of a tool compensation technique in designing roller path profiles and produces a comprehensive computational analysis and experimental validation on the effects of roller path profiles on spun part quality. The work was supported by a KTP with Metal Spinners Group Ltd (contact: Engineering Director).
