Additional information

This was the first time that a study of the erratic motion of a slowly rotating soccer ball had been carried out. The understanding gained led to the development of a novel surface pattern and panel construction of a soccer ball in collaboration with Umbro (contact details available). The ball was subsequently adopted for all FA Cup and England international home matches.
