Additional information

In 2013, this article was awarded the first Leiden Journal of International Law Prize, instituted on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the journal. The objective of the prize is 'to hail refreshing and inspiring scholarship'. The article was selected following a review by an external committee of the articles published in the previous five volumes of the journal. The Editor-in-Chief, Professor Jean D'Aspremont, stated that 'the entire board is very happy about this decision as we think that the article is the embodiment of the scholarship we want to promote.'
