Noise and selectivity of velocity-selective multi-electrode nerve cuffs
This paper is one of a series from a major international collaboration led by Taylor. It presents the first practical method to improve the quality of chronic electroneurogram recordings using velocity selective recording to maximize available information capture, thereby improving the effectiveness of artificial devices for, e.g., gait and hand-grasp restoration. The work led to leadership of a new international collaboration to develop the ideas involving UCL, Cambridge and Aalborg (Denmark) and to two invited presentations at international conferences (World Congress on Medical Physics, 2009 and the IEEE Annual International Conference of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011).
