Additional information

This research follows on from a collaboration with DTI, AIRBUS UK, Rolls-Royce, GKN and QinetiQ to develop industrial design tools for modelling ice build-up on aircraft compnents in flight.

The output is a new, more inclusive mathematical treatement of the icing process, expanded to include to the case of surfaces which are heated, continuously or intermittenty, to provide efficiency improvements in aircraft systems. Contact roger.gent@aerotex.co.uk.
