Additional information

This research was conducted as part of a 6 year collaboration with the Manx Electricity Authority (MEA, Isle of Man), where it yielded an improved understanding of factors affecting plant performance and the effects of maintenance on operations. The outputs are computer based models for power plants that optimise performance and reduce maintenance costs. These are now in use at the MEA, to help operators refine maintenance management and improve their ability to bid their powerplant to the grid. The results also led to further collaboration between Cranfield and MEA over an additional 4-year period (and ongoing).
