Additional information

This research pioneered the use of optical diffusers to make easily aligned gas absorption cells. Funded via an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship (GR/T04595) and First Grant (GR/T04601).

Impact:

• Technique used by Siemens for in situ measurement of oxygen in industrial boilers (Chen et al, Appl Phys B 100: 417–425, 2010), contact Rainer.Strzoda@siemens.com.

• TSB funded Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP 0006825) with Geotechnical Instruments Ltd, supplier of landfill gas monitors with 65% of the global market. Contact Dr A Kannath, a.kannath@geotech.co.uk
