Ruston was invited guest editor of this annual edition of Essays and Studies. The edition was commissioned to explore the emerging sub-discipline (for Romanticism) of Literature and Science and featured some of the foremost experts in this field. Ruston wrote the Introduction (pp. 1-12), an essay 'Natural Rights and Natural History in Anna Barbauld and Mary Wollstonecraft' (pp. 53-71), and edited the whole.
