Lesbian discourses : images of a community.
This book develops discourse theory, adds to a vibrant research area and provides the first full-fledged diachronic study of lesbian discourse to date. It received positive reviews in the journals Language and Society, Discourse and Society, and Critical Discourse Studies, with reviewers referring to it as ‘impressive’, ‘break[ing] new ground’ and ‘an imitable example of [critical discourse analysis]’. Following publication, the author was invited to give two plenary lectures at international conferences (in Nagoya, 2009, and Washington DC, 2010) and published two articles in peer-reviewed international journals (Gender and Language, Discourse and Society) as well as three book chapters.
