Renaissance and Reform in Tudor England: The Careers of Sir Richard Morison c.1513-1556
An intellectual biography of a leading Tudor humanist, reformer, politician and writer. This monograph of c.100,000 words (excluding bibliography) contains completely new and unpublished material. The research underlying it involved the consultation of thousands of manuscript letters, dozens of manuscript tracts, and extensive early printed material written in six different languages and based in over twenty archives spread across four countries. It engages with four often distinct sub-disciplines: religious history, intellectual history, print/book history and political history, making a substantial contribution to each, as well as drawing links between them.
