Serious gaming technology in major incident triage training: A pragmatic controlled trial
<29> The research described is significant beyond triage training because while in most e-learning versus traditional learning studies there is a notable ‘no significant difference’, in this study we noted a ‘significant difference’ towards the game condition in two out of the three measures. Further studies are being undertaken to replicate this and compare efficacy of learning between traditional and game-based approaches. The approach was pioneered in the DTI £2M SG-ETS project with Blitz Games Studios (Contact: Mr Richard Smithies, previously Chief Executive, RSmithies@BlitzGamesStudios.com) and medical responders (Contact: Mr S Jarvis, Instructional Designer, College of Policing, sjarvis@ncalt.com).
