Additional information

Ionic smart materials have important applications in soft robotics and biomedical applications. Paper presents previously unknown shape-memory properties of ionic smart materials and important new constraints on exploitation of these materials. Work was result of international collaboration with RIKEN Advanced Science Institute and Kyushu Institute of Technology. Paper was promoted to Fast-Track by journal editorial board and was one of only 22 papers selected for Journal Highlights of 2012 which are made available for free download [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-76].
