Additional information

Carbon-nanotube-reinforced cellulose composites offer possibility of electrically-conducting multifunctional textiles with wide variety of potential applications in clothing (e.g. military, sports and healthcare). Paper describes development of new manufacturing method that uses benign solvents in spinning process. Work led to continued funding with US Air Force Office of Scientific Research [contact: Leader, Sustainable Composites Project Polymers Division].
