Paper gives first experimental evidence of shape memory (SM) effects present in auxetic (negative Poisson's ratio) foams. Work led to Scarpa's invitation to deliver keynotes at 2010 Acoustical Society of America Conference in Baltimore, USA [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-106] and 2012 International Conference on Composites Dynamics [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-77].
