Additional information

Theoretical paper identifies structure and properties of regularized sensitivity-based techniques used

for model updating of vibrating mechanical systems. This provides tool for improved understanding of

regularising conditions, design of new regularisation conditions and method for analysing associated

issues (e.g. lack of separation between primary problem and regularizing condition). Work was

initiated in Titurus’ Royal Society Postdoctoral Fellowship that fed into TSB-funded Rotorcraft

Technology Validation Programme (£5.9M, 2010-3) to flight-demonstrate world-leading UK helicopter

technologies including active rotors and active vibration management.
