Determination of the nature of the tetragonal to orthorhombic phase transition in SrFe2As2 by measurement of the local order parameter
This paper introduced a new method to track the progress of phase transitions in the recently discovered iron-based superconductors. It was cited in Johnson's review “The Puzzle of High Temperature Superconductivity in Layered Iron Pnictides and Chalcogenides” [Adv Phys 59(2010)803] as a demonstration that even though symmetry allows the transition to be second-order, it was in fact first-order. This work has been used as definitive evidence that the phase transition in SrFe2As2 is first-order as cited in Cortes-Gil et al. [Chem Mater 23(2011)1009] and Blomberg et al. [Phys Rev B 83(2011)134505].
