Additional information

This is the first work demonstrating that combined intra- and inter-domain optimisation can improve performance by accommodating 30-60% more traffic demand and result in significant economies for operators. It is the culmination on many years of work on traffic engineering and relevant ideas for inter-domain traffic savings led to information-centric networking and the award of the EU COMET project for which Prof. Pavlou was the technical coordinator - €3.3M (€780k to UCL). Based on this work, Prof. Pavlou was invited to give tutorials in key IEEE conferences such as IFIP/IEEE IM 2011, IEEE ISCC 2012 and IEEE ICT 2012.
