Generation of optical OFDM signals using 21.4 GS/s real time digital signal processing
The first reported implementation of real-time DSP for multi-Gbit/s optical OFDM. Led to invitations to participate in the European project Piano+ OTONES (£52k) and a patent with Intel Corp (P. Watts et al., US2011/0052211 A1). Presented at leading international conferences, including a post-deadline paper at the European Conference on Optical Communications in 2009, and invited talks at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference 2011 and 2011 IEEE Photonics Conference. As a result of this work, Dr Killey was invited to serve on the TPC of the OSA Signal Processing for Photonic Communications meetings 2010-2012, including as General Co-chair in 2012.
