Additional information

This paper is the first to develop a robust, data-driven Markov Chain method to capture real-world behaviour in a driving cycle without deconstructing the raw velocity–time sequence. This enables an automatic and statistically robust methodology to enable many miles of recorded data to be converted to a short, representative drive cycle. Cenex (http://www.cenex.co.uk/) will be using this method to examine lorry fleet data over the summer of 2013, and to compare it with their standard simpler method.
