Additional information

<07> Lancaster is recognized as having pioneered work on reflective middleware, and this paper is based on a succeeding wave of research: a highly novel reflective framework that supports ‘plug-in’ network overlay protocols that can be flexibly stacked and dynamically reconfigured. This is an empirical paper based on using the framework in a real-life deployment of a flood forecasting system: experience which led us to be selected as the sole Computer Science partner in a NERC consortium developing an Environmental Virtual Observatory (the pEVO project). EuroSys is the leading European systems conference (acceptance rate 18%).
