Double-weighted statement

Publication of photographs of English misericords still remains piecemeal, although ongoing work coordinated by Misericordia International, to which Hardwick is contributing, is seeking to remedy this. However, this paucity of available record necessitated extensive fieldwork. Hardwick's monograph, which is the first to address medieval misericords in the light of literary scholarship, necessitated visiting sites throughout Britain in order to see the material under discussion, a process which took over seven years.
