<12> We utilise a mathematical isomorphism – developed and previously published by the authors – between functions and geometrical structures. For the Segre variety, this geometric object is proven to have an alternating tri-linear form. Given a geometric r-flat (r-dimensional subspace), the associate is defined and shown to be a s-flat for some s, enabling new properties of spreads of lines and planes to be explored through a mixture of mathematical proof and computer based searching. The work underpins some of the theory of error correcting codes with a geometrical analysis of certain structures and provides the basis for the 2012 paper.
