Additional information

This publication is the first to evaluate in-line adhesively bonded joints for natural fibre composites (NFCs) containing well aligned fibres. The paper demonstrates that packing densities (volume fractions) in NFCs may exceed those in synthetic fibre composites by virtue of the lateral compressibility of natural fibres and provides a general methodology for optimising joint design in NFC structures. Composites Science and Technology accepts only 20% of submitted papers.
